Post 54: EVALUATION Q.2

Q.2 HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE COMBINATION OF YOUR MAIN PRODUCT AND ANCILLARY TASKS?

For evaluation question 2, I have produced a video illustrating how we have created synergy across our three products in the design, layout, construction of representations, mise-en-scene, and colour scheme, amongst other things. I wanted to create a chatty video of me describing our ancillary tasks, because I think it best demonstrates our products if its tangible to me and I can go through each of our decisions. I feel as though I went in to a good depth of detail and explained what went wrong, why we liked it, why we used the images we did and whether the two went well together. So, here's the video:

PLANNING:
In preparation to evaluate our ancillary tasks, I printed out the original digipack and poster so I could show them in the video, holding them allowing it to be clear if I wanted to focus on something specifically. I feel as though having the actual ancillary tasks printed out made it easier for me to talk more in depth and compare them when they are placed next to each other because you can see the similarities and differences. I went into filming this video with no particular lay out of what I was going to say because I wanted it to be chatty and more relaxed rather than structured. I feel that doing it this way allowed me to express my own opinion of the ancillary tasks in depth. However, I did have a few talking points that would be key in explaining how our effective the combination of our ancillary tasks are with our main product is. They included consistency, details, colour schemes, characters, our target audience, the forms and conventions of indie posters and much more. (highlighted in the mind map below). In conclusion, this worked really well and I feel as though you can understand the reasoning to why these images were used and put together through my discussion.
